When: Monday 18th February 2008, doors open 6:00pm, meeting starts 6:30pm
Where: UWE (University of the West of England), Frenchay, Bristol (see FAQ for directions and a map) - Room 2q48 (in Q block)
What: A Tour Of Visual Studio 2008 And The .NET Framework v3.5
Who: Daniel Moth, Microsoft Developer Evangelist, former MVP
Why: Because Visual Studio 2008 and the .NET Framework v3.5 are multi-targeting and that means you can use them to develop and maintain .NET Framework 2.0 applications so you can upgrade without having to take a risk. And also because Daniel packs everything into his presentations and you will have a hard time keeping up with his pace.
How do I sign up for this meeting: Send an email to meetings at dotnetdevnet.com and quote your user name and the February meeting
Abstract:
Want to know how Visual Studio 2008 differs from every single previous release of Visual Studio? Do the terms "red bits" and "green bits" confuse you? Are you having a hard time finding what exactly is new in the .NET Framework v3.5 – the complete list? Have you got an interest in exploring what the new C#3 and VB9 language features can do for you today and not tomorrow? This talk will satisfy all of those questions plus more. After attending this session, the first thing you will do when you go back home is move your VS2005 projects to VS2008 - that's a promise!
