When: Tuesday 13th May 2008, doors open 6:00pm, meeting starts 6:30pm
Where: UWE (University of the West of England), Frenchay, Bristol (see FAQ for directions and a map) - Room 2q49 (in Q block)
What: Silverlight 2.0 Unplugged
Who: Chris Hay, Silverlight evangelist, developer and founder of the Cambridge branch of NxtGen
Why: Because Silverlight 2.0 will change the way websites are developed. Silverlight 2.0 is WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) in a cross-platform browser. It is like the Compact Framework running inside a browser. And that means that instead of writing JavaScript you can write C# that runs inside the browser. Also because Chris is a highly charged and enthusiastic speaker who is easy to listen to.
How do I sign up for this meeting: Send an email to meetings at dotnetdevnet.com and quote your user name and the May meeting

About Chris:
Chris is regularly caught by his wife browsing internet sites at 2.00am in the morning. Sadly he is always looking at .NET sites rather than the haunts frequented by his peers.
Chris has worked on various large projects and is specialised in C#, ASP.NET, AJAX, SQL and various other acronymns. Having always tried to keep at the front of the technology curve, i guess it is time to share that knowledge around a little.
Simple tip, never mention Silverlight infront of him (if you are in a hurry).
You can catch him on his blog directly http://silverlightuk.blogspot.com or from the community section of Silverlight.net.
