When: Monday 5th July 2010, doors open 6:00pm, meeting starts 6:30pm
Where: UWE (University of the West of England), Frenchay, Bristol (see FAQ for directions and a map) - Room 2D67 (in other words it's *not* the usual room!)
What: May the Silverlight 4’s be with you
Who: Richard Costall, MVP, Silverlight Fiend, podcaster, co-founder of the mighty NxtGen Empire (be afraid, be very afraid).
Why: Because Silverlight has grown up and now it is difficult to choose between Silverlight and WPF even for desktop apps let alone between Silverlight and ASP.NET for web apps. Also because Richard is one half of the Chuckle Brothers (our insurance wouldn't cover us to have an appearance from Dave McMahon at the same time) - you may laugh, you may chuckle but you will surely learn cool stuff about Silverlight.
How do I sign up for this meeting: Log in to the site, go to the Meetings page and on the top right hand side you will see a box "Register For A Meeting". Select the month in the drop down and then click on the Register link.
Abstract:
Richard Costall takes a Star Speeder to Earth to talk about Silverlight 4. In this session we'll look at the positioning of this technology, and explore exciting new features, such as WebCam Support, Elevated Out of Browser, Printing support and many more changes across the Silverlight 4 framework.
